McLaughlin Medal recipient Deborah Cook joined newly named Royal Society of Canada fellows Hendrik Poinar and Judah Denburg, as well as new RSC College members Michelle Kho, Nathan Andrews and Matthew Miller, at the society’s annual celebration of excellence.
The funding will support the establishment of a research centre that will significantly expand the university’s capacity for research, partnerships and training to drive new therapies to market.
One team is developing rapid self-tests that would lower community exposure, and the other is studying farming communities for insights on transmission and risk for human populations.
